Pet policy: whole property and per room

Set whether you accept pets, how many, and configure different rules per room or unit.

What it is

The pet policy says whether your property accepts animals and how many. It is a setting of its own — it is not the same as ticking the "Pet Friendly" amenity in the amenities list.

The difference matters: the amenity is a badge, the policy is a rule. It is the policy that tells the guest how many are allowed and that organises the search on your booking link.

When to use it

Configure it whenever you accept animals — even if the answer is "no". Making it explicit that you do not accept them avoids a booking made by mistake, an argument on arrival and a cancellation.

How to configure it on a whole property

1. Go to Settings → Properties and edit the property.

2. Find the pet policy section.

3. State whether the property accepts pets.

4. If it does, state the maximum number per unit.

5. Click Save.

When you tick that you accept, the maximum becomes required — without it the rule would be incomplete and the guest would not know how many animals they can bring.

How to configure it on properties that sell rooms

In an operation by rooms or units, each room has its own policy. That reflects reality: a ground-floor studio with outdoor space may accept pets, and an upstairs suite may not.

1. Open the property and go to the rooms area.

2. Edit the room you want.

3. Configure that room's pet policy.

4. Click Save.

Repeat for each room. Different rooms can have different limits.

Charging per animal

Accepting pets and charging for them are separate settings. You can accept without charging anything — and that is how every property starts.

To charge, enter the pet fee amount on the same screen where you configured the policy: on the property, when the whole place is rented; on each room, when the operation sells rooms.

The charge is per animal, per stay. If the fee is R$ 50 and the guest brings 2 animals, that is R$ 100 — over 3 nights or over 10.

There is no add-on list for the guest to tick a "pet fee". The charge follows from the number they already gave in the search: if the unit charges, the amount enters the quote on its own. That avoids the impossible combination of two declared animals and no fee.

An empty field means free. No property and no room started charging on its own. The charge only exists once someone types an amount.

Two rules worth remembering:

  • In per-room operations, the room does the pricing. The same unit that decides whether the animal is accepted, and how many fit, decides what it costs. The property has no say over a room's pet.
  • Legacy acceptance through the amenity never charges. If the property accepts pets only because the "Pet Friendly" amenity is ticked, and the policy was never configured, no fee is applied. To charge, configure the policy properly.
  • What the guest sees

In the property rules, the guest reads whether pets are accepted and the limit. The message says only what is configured — Rezvia does not invent a policy you never declared.

On properties that sell rooms, the guest can state how many pets they are bringing in the search. Rooms that do not meet that number simply do not appear as options, so they do not waste time choosing a unit that would be refused later.

What you will see in Rezvia

The number of pets stated by the guest appears alongside the rest of the booking data, next to the number of adults, children and babies.

When there is a charge, the pet fee appears itemised on the booking, separate from the nightly rate — and that is how it also enters the owner statement.

    Worked example

    A guesthouse with three units:

  • Studio 01 — accepts up to 2 pets;
  • Studio 02does not accept pets;
  • Chalet 03 — accepts up to 1 pet.
  • A guest searches for dates stating they will bring 2 dogs. The booking link shows only Studio 01, because it is the only one that fits two animals.

If they state 1 dog, Studio 01 and Chalet 03 both appear.

    Important

  • Ticking the "Pet Friendly" amenity does not replace the policy. Without the policy configured, the guest does not know the allowed number — and the fee is not applied.
  • Properties and rooms that never went through this configuration keep behaving as before. Nothing was changed on its own.
  • Accepting pets does not create a fee by itself. The fee exists when you enter an amount, and it is charged per animal, per stay.
  • On properties that sell rooms, the rule that applies to the booking is the chosen room's — acceptance, limit and price.
