Airbnb sends unavailable-date notices that are not reservations. Choose, per calendar, whether they block your availability.
Why this option exists
Airbnb sends two different things in the same calendar: your guests' reservations and unavailable-date notices that are nobody's reservation.
Those notices come from your own listing rules:
Advance notice — how many days ahead you require to accept a booking.
Same-day booking cut-off — after it, Airbnb closes today.
Preparation time — the days you keep free to get the place ready between stays.
Booking window — how far ahead the listing accepts reservations.
None of them has a guest. Even so, they used to reach your calendar as a block, exactly like a real reservation — and the date was closed for your direct sales too.
On the calendar, a block that came from a channel notice now shows as "Unavailable on Airbnb". An imported reservation still shows as "Airbnb block". The name tells you which is which.
What each option does
Reservations and blocks — anything Airbnb marks as unavailable blocks your calendar. This is the long-standing behaviour.
Reservations only — only Airbnb reservations come in. Unavailable notices stop blocking your calendar and stop getting in the way of your direct sales.
Which one to pick
Reservations only is for you if:
you create direct bookings in Rezvia, on your own site or at the desk;
when you need to close a date, you block it in Rezvia.
Reservations and blocks is for you if:
you usually close dates inside Airbnb, by hand;
and you want those closures to keep reaching Rezvia.
There is no single right answer. The question is just this: when you close a date, do you do it in Rezvia or on Airbnb?
How to change the option
Whole property
1. Go to Settings.
2. Open Properties.
3. On the property row, click the link icon — iCal integration.
4. Under Imported calendars, find the Airbnb calendar.
5. Right below its name, under Import from this calendar, pick the option you want.
Property sold by room
1. Go to Settings.
2. Open Properties.
3. On the property row, click the door icon — Manage rooms.
4. On the Property rooms screen, scroll to the room you want.
5. Below that room's iCal calendar field, under Import from this calendar, pick the option.
Either way you get "Calendar preference saved!". Nothing else to do: the choice is already in effect.
If the calendar has no choice yet, the screen says so: "No choice yet: today this calendar imports reservations and blocks." Pick one of the two options and the notice goes away.
What happens next
Airbnb reservations keep coming in normally. That does not change under either option.
Older unavailability blocks clear by themselves, usually within about 6 hours. They are not deleted immediately on purpose: the calendar waits to confirm the channel really stopped asking for that date.
Blocks on dates already in the past stay in the history. They get in the way of no sale, because the date is gone.
Things to watch out for
Do not remove the calendar to change the option. Do not use the trash icon or the X. Removing the calendar cancels every block it brought in, and adding it back afterwards can leave confirmed reservations in conflict. To change the preference, just pick the option.
Under "Reservations only", a block you make by hand on Airbnb stops coming in. If you close a date inside Airbnb it stays closed there, but it no longer closes the date in Rezvia. To close it in both places, block it in Rezvia — blocks created here still go out to the channels.
The option exists for Airbnb calendars only. Booking.com, Vrbo, Expedia and other channels do not change and do not show this choice. That is deliberate: each channel writes its calendar differently, and in some of them a real reservation arrives marked as unavailable.
When you add a new Airbnb calendar, the choice is required. Under Settings → Properties → iCal integration, the Add calendar button stays disabled until you pick one, and the screen asks "Choose what to import from this Airbnb calendar." On the Property rooms screen, the message appears when you click Import iCal without having picked.
Calendars that already existed stay on "Reservations and blocks" until someone changes them. Nothing changed by itself on anyone's calendar.
Frequently asked questions
Why was there an Airbnb block with no reservation at all?
Because it was an unavailability notice from Airbnb itself — advance notice, same-day cut-off, preparation time or booking window — and not a reservation. Those events now show on the calendar as "Unavailable on Airbnb", and you get to choose whether they block or not.
I picked "Reservations only" and the block is still there
That is expected for a few hours. It clears by itself, usually within about 6 hours, once the calendar confirms the notice is not coming back. You do not have to delete anything by hand.
Can I change my mind?
Yes, at any time. Pick Reservations and blocks again and the notices go back to blocking from the next sync on. Nothing is lost in the switch, and you can go back and forth as often as you like.
Does this affect Booking.com?
No. The choice is per calendar, and it only shows on Airbnb calendars. The other channels stay exactly as they were.
Do I have to touch this at all?
No. If you never open this option, your calendar keeps working the way it always has.
