What the booking "Origin" field is, why bookings show as "No origin", how to choose the origin and how the dashboard ranking adds it up.
The tooltip next to the field sums it up: the guest's commercial origin, one of the sources from Settings › Sources — what the dashboard origin ranking adds up; not the entry channel nor the channel fee/commission.
Nothing. A booking's origin is only what was chosen in the "Origin" field; the system never guesses. It does not turn the entry channel into an origin, does not read the iCal feed name, does not use the "Booking" or "Airbnb" text left over from older versions. That is why these show as "No origin":
To fix it, one by one: in Bookings, filter by "No origin" (that is the work list), open the booking, pick the source in the "Origin" field and save. There is no bulk or retroactive assignment — each link is your choice. The dashboard insights show the warning "X% of bookings have no origin" when, in the period, three or more confirmed bookings and 30% or more of the total have no origin.
If the selector only shows "No origin" and the notice "No origins registered", register yours under Settings › Sources. A new account has the "Add default origins" button (Airbnb, Booking.com, VRBO, Instagram, WhatsApp, Referral, Own site, Direct and Google); it only exists while the list is empty.
The "Origin" field is in every booking form: Bookings (create and edit), Calendar, mobile (buttons) and the CRM deal conversion (prefilled with the deal's origin, and it can be changed). The selector lists only "No origin" and your account's active sources — no free-text option.
Choosing is the action: there is no confirmation button. What the selector shows when you save is what gets stored. Changing the origin moves the booking in the ranking; choosing "No origin" on a booking that had one removes the link.
The "Origin ranking — booked revenue by origin" card adds up the confirmed bookings (confirmed, checked in or checked out; cancelled, blocks and pending ones are left out) of the chosen period and property, by check-in date, grouped by the origin chosen on each one, ordered by revenue. It shows the name and colour registered on the source — renaming the source renames the history; deactivating it keeps the history with the "inactive" mark. "No origin" is always last, in grey. The "Origin mix" next to the chart uses the same list.
The "Entry channel" block, right below, starts from the same bookings and splits them by how they came in. The two blocks add up to the same total, and to the "Bookings" and "Booked value" indicators at the top.
Check the period. The dashboard opens on the current month, and the ranking uses the check-in date: a December booking does not enter September's ranking. Pick the booking's month (or the whole year) in the period selector. The chosen period lives in the page URL — reloading keeps it, and the link can be shared.
No. The statement keeps showing the channel and the channel fee entered on each booking, and it is the fee that changes the payout — not the origin. The origin serves the dashboard and the commercial reading. About the channel fee on the statement, read How to use Airbnb, Booking.com and other sources on the statement.
