How to configure a channel fee on a booking

What is the channel fee?

The channel fee is the commission charged by platforms such as Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia or any other intermediary on the gross booking amount. By recording that fee in Rezvia, the owner statement automatically calculates the real earnings without manual adjustments.

When to use it

Use it whenever the booking comes from a platform that takes a commission before passing the money to you. The most common channels are:

Airbnb (usually between 3% and 5% on the host side)

Booking.com (usually between 15% and 20%)

Expedia and other OTAs

Local portals or agencies working on commission

These figures come from the channels themselves and change over time — always confirm the current rate on your channel statement.

Step by step

1. Go to Bookings in the sidebar.

2. Open the booking, or click + New Booking.

3. Find the Source channel field and select the right channel (Airbnb, Booking.com, etc.).

4. In Channel fee (%), enter the percentage the channel charges on the gross amount.

5. The system calculates the fee amount automatically.

6. Click Save.

Worked example

Take a R$ 1,000.00 booking from Booking.com with an 18% commission:

Gross revenue: R$ 1,000.00

Channel fee (18%): R$ 180.00

Operational revenue: R$ 820.00

That R$ 820.00 is what feeds into the owner statement calculation.

Important tips

If the booking is direct (WhatsApp, your own site, a referral), leave the channel fee at zero or select "Direct".

Check the commission percentage on the channel statement to be sure it is right.

The percentage can vary depending on the listing type or a special agreement with the channel.

Common mistakes

Entering the fee as an amount instead of a percentage — always use the percentage field.

Forgetting to set the channel on Airbnb bookings — it distorts the owner statement.

Using the same rate for every channel — each platform charges differently.
