Understand the order in which pricing rules compete, and find out why a given date shows the price it shows.
The same date can be covered by several settings at once: the base rate, a weekend rule, a season, a price you typed into the calendar and a holiday package.
They do not add up. One of them wins, and that is the value the guest sees.
1. Package — a closed price for a whole period.
2. Price set for the date — the value you typed for that specific day in the calendar.
3. Special price — a period rule that is not a package.
4. Season — the standard rate for a longer period.
5. Weekday rate — Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday to Thursday.
6. Standard rate — the base rate, used when none of the above applies.
This same order is written on the Seasons tab of the pricing screen, so you can check it without leaving.
Go from top to bottom and stop at the first rule that exists for that date.
It all lives on one screen: Settings → Properties, on the property's calendar icon. It opens with four tabs:
It is the most common question, and the screen answers it on its own: when you select a date whose value comes from a rule, a notice tells you where the price comes from — for example, "this value is set by the special rule *New Year*". To change or delete it, you are pointed to the right tab.
That is deliberate: changing the value in the calendar while it comes from a rule would create two truths for the same date.
Each rule is removed on the tab where it was created — packages and specials under Specials and packages, seasons under Seasons. Deleting a season does not change bookings already made: they keep the price they were closed at.
Once the rule is gone, the date follows the order again: it falls to the next level that exists, down to the base rate.
Three things do not compete with the rules above — they add to, or apply after, the value already decided:
In other words: the order above decides *what the night is worth*; then come the people, the extras and the discounts.
Your base rate is R$ 400. Saturday costs R$ 600 under the weekday rule. You created a July season at R$ 700. And you typed R$ 900 for 20 July.
